Addy Allred
Professional Services Intern
Smithsonian Science Education Center
Addy Allred is an intern with the Professional Services Division at the Smithsonian Science Education Center. Addy is a rising senior and majors in Geology and Environmental Studies at Guilford College in Greensboro NC. She is also part of the Cape Fear River Basin Studies program, focusing on women’s health and education in the Greensboro area. Her research also includes sustainability in agricultural policy and practice. For the past two summers, she’s been in the classroom as a Service Leader Intern for Freedom School Partners of Charlotte. She’s a co-editor and chief for Guilford’s literary magazine, the Greenleaf Review, and a trainer for the Greenleaf Coffee Co-operative. She is also a co-founder of Aspiring Leaders Achieving Success, an organization dedicated to providing support and empowering Latino students in the Guilford College community.
