Karen Manning

Passionate about alternative energy resources, Karen has written inquiry-based curriculum modules for MudWatt, the developer of Microbial Fuel Cell kits that are used for educational purposes.  She was inspired to explore emerging energy technologies after attending the SSEATS 2014 Energy Workshop and continued her investigation as a Teacher in Residence at the Museum of Science in Boston, MA.  Karen has a Masters of Science in Oceanography and has worked as an oceanographer, a Program Manager at an oceanographic equipment manufacturing company and is currently the Science Department Chair and middle school science teacher at a school in Boston.
