Hal Wallace
Harold Wallace, Jr. is curator of the Electricity Collections at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Hal is responsible for over 20,000 objects documenting the history of electrical science and technologies. He has specialized in the history of electric light and power since joining NMAH in 1995. Hal holds an M.A. in history from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is currently a Ph.D. student there in the Department of Public Policy. He has served on the IEEE History Committee, and currently serves on the Museum Committee of the Baltimore Museum of Industry and as Smithsonian representative on the board of the Thomas A. Edison Papers. Hal is the author of Wallops Station and the Creation of An American Space Program, as well as articles on the history of electric lighting. He has participated in physical and online exhibitions on a variety of electrical topics, and is a member the American Historical Association, the American Political Science Association and the Society for the History of Technology.
