Daniel Hussey, Ph.D

Dr. Daniel Hussey is a physicist in the Radiation Physics Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a part of the Neutron Physics Group where he has worked since 2004, initially as a postdoctoral fellow and then a physicist in 2006. Prior to coming to NIST Hussey attended University of New Hampshire for his bachelor’s degree and Indiana University for both his Masters and Ph.D. While attending Indiana University he received the J.B. Dutcher Outstanding Graduate Student in Experiment Research award and the National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship honor the following year. Most recently in 2009 Hussey was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering. As a physicist his research topics range from neutron imaging of lithium ion batteries to the measurement of water permeabilities of porous materials with neutron imaging.
